May 2021, CellSpring organized a workshop for New Orleans high school students to learn about working in the biotech industry. The program was put on in partnership with STEM NOLA and Obatala Sciences with the goal of giving students access and exposure to an unconventional career path in biotech.
Dr. Millan, CellSpring CEO commented, "It's very important to us at CellSpring to be able to engage and give back to the community, to my hometown of New Orleans in this case. Biotech is not a prominent industry in the city, but it's a growing one. We are thrilled to participate in giving high school students a bit of exposure to an industry like this with very promising career opportunities, especially one or two years before they go to college. Hopefully these weeks with us in the lab will help some of the students decide whether or not pursuing science and biotech is right for them."
